Sydney is a gorgeous city packed full of good weather, good people and good places! However over the years living costs in Sydney have slowly increased and therefore can be quite expensive to get by. Free wifi is also available and it’s a perfect spot for picnics with a beautiful view of the Sydney Opera House right in the heart of the city.

This walking route will take you through some of Sydney’s most iconic beaches. The walk extends across 6km in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and features stunning views, beaches, cliffs, parks and bays. As the walk is pretty long you’ll have plenty of chances to rest, swim or eat at the cafes and restaurants at each stop near the beaches. If you want to complete the whole walk it can take up to two hours so make sure you wear some comfortable shoes, wear plenty of sun screen and if you’re visiting in the colder weather wear some warm appropriate clothing.

The gallery is only a 15 minutes walk from the city centre and overlooks the beautiful parklands of Sydney Harbour. The admission to the gallery is free and so are most of the galleries, exhibitions and events, on Wednesdays’ night it’s a bonus with free talks and films. This is a great place to spend a chill day of exploring art.

This is one of Australia’s oldest parks and has 16 hectares of open space giving you plenty of room to have a picnic or soak in the sun and top up that tan! The southern side of the park contains the ‘Anzac’ memorial building, visitor centre, the pool of reflection and many more monuments and statues. If you head to the northern side it features the iconic Archibald Fountain and various pretty themed gardens. Also throughout the year Hyde Park hosts a number of cultural events including the Sydney Festival, Australia day, Food and Wine Fair and Anzac day.

Then the North head sanctuary is for you! Whether you take an interest in history, nature or just generally love taking in stunning views this place will be right up your alley. With easy walking tracks to explore there is around 10km of land to explore. If you’re interested in exploring history then head to the North Fort which was an integral part in Sydney’s defence in the second world war. You can take an exciting 45 minute guided tour through the war tunnels and gun emplacements. You could also go on the Australian memorial walk, this walk honours those who served and supported the defence in the second world war.
